ch.soc.law	Discussion on law in Switzerland.

CHARTER

Discussions on justice and law, verdicts, administrative
proceedings, and the like.

Due to legal reasons, no counseling is allowed in this group.
General questions can be discussed on the base of specific
cases, though.

The discussions may cover the following topics:

  - Discussions on specific laws and their applicability
  - Discussions on criminal, civil, labour law, copyright,
    the constitution and others
  - Discussions on the justice system (police, public
    prosecution, ...)
  - Questions on legal procedures
  - Discussions on verdicts
  - General exchange of experience on those topics.

Advertisment (even from lawyers, counsellers etc.) are deemed
not appropriate.

Anonymous and pseudonymous postings are considered appropriate
as an exception from the rules, especially if the poster finds
him/herself in ongoing legal proceedings or for privacy reasons
on certain areas of law. Even in these cases, a valid mail
address is required.

Voting Procedure Notes
======================

Only one vote per person, no more than one vote per account is
valid. Duplicate votes will be resolved in favor of the most
recent valid vote. Addresses and votes of all voters will be
published in the final voting results list.

Votes must be mailed directly from the voter to the address
given in the Reply-To:-Field. Anonymous, forwarded, or proxy
votes are not valid. Votes mailed by WWW/HTML/CGI forms are
considered to be anonymous votes.

The use of spam blockers or other munged addresses will prevent
receiving an acknowledgement of your vote. If the address cannot
be verified, the ballot will be disallowed. There is no need for
munged addresses as in the final voting results list all
adresses will be alienated.

If you do not receive an acknowledgment of your vote within four
days contact the votetaker about the problem. It is YOUR
responsibility to make sure your vote is registered correctly.

[Special note for the ch.soc.law-CfV: the votetaker will not be
able to process queries other than automated responses between
2001-09-20 and 2001-10-07]

How to vote
===========

Extract the ballot from the CFV by deleting everything above the
top "-=-=-=-" line and everything below the bottom "-=-=-=-"
line. DO NOT erase anything between these lines and do not
change the group names. Don't worry about the spacing of the
columns or any quote characters (">") that your reply inserts.
Please do NOT send the entire CFV back to me.

Give your name on the line that asks for it. Place ONLY your
name (i.e., do not include your e-mail address or any other
information). If you would like to remain anonymous, please
contact the votetaker. For each group, place a YES or NO in the
brackets next to it to vote for or against it. If you don't want
to vote on a particular group, insert ABSTAIN or just leave the
space blank.

Then mail the ballot to: ch.soc.law@vote.astrum.ch

Just Replying to this message should work, but check the "To:"
line.

Examples of how to properly indicate your vote (do not vote
here):

  [ YES ] foo.bar.fump
  [ NO ] foo.bar.gurk
  [ ABSTAIN ] foo.bar.misc

If these instructions are unclear, please ask the votetaker.
